MAINTAIN: We address any functional / maintenance issues ensuring the design integrity of the building

POST CONSTRUCTION PHASE

  • GWA visit the site and monitor defective works during defect liability period;
  • GWA provides other post completion services as required;
  • GWA responds to requests for information from Client if requested.

MAINTENANCE:

  • The Client provides a brief for maintenance work. This work may be ongoing or immediate;
  • GWA prepares a return brief listing specific project requirements, which the Client reviews and confirms;
  • GWA assists with the preparation of consultant briefs and obtains fee proposals for the required maintenance work;
  • GWA organises for specific work items to be carried out by various suppliers/ tradesmen;
  • GWA monitors the progress of the work and provides updates to the Client as required.

JADE YOUNG

What do you do at GWA?  I translate ideas and sketches into quantifiable drawings and qualitative documents- and drink coffee.

What were you doing before you joined GWA?  Whilst at Uni, I spent a few years moonlighting as a florist, and then worked in a private practice in Sydney after graduating from UNSW. I then spent eight years in London working for both small and medium scale practices, studying, eating and shopping; Upon return to Sydney I found the opportunity to use my skills at GWA.

What do you do that’s not related to Architecture? Entertaining a toddler, cooking but mostly eating.
